We, Anna & Sloane, are two queer, Chicago-based printmakers that together comprise Duress Press. Through our press, we disseminate visual art and writing that interrogate midwestern working-class identity while documenting species loss and ecological precarity through slow, manual processes.

We are both working to further the historical traditions of craft in our respective fields: Sloane, a professional editor and poet, counterbalances Anna Wagner's technically astute etchings and scientific watercolor illustrations. While craft-focused and historically informed, we both push the limits of our chosen media to interrogate the cultures that defined their respective canons.
