Generation Loss
By Anna Wagner

Copper plate soft ground etching with hard-ground additions. The impression was taken from a baby garter snake who was killed in a traffic accident and respectfully buried after etching. The plate was shaped with a coping saw. 

The oroboros eats its own tail and, in doing so, is perpetually reborn. But nothing that copies itself ad infinitum can do so without exponential mutation.

Printed onto 8.5 x 10” Hahnemuhle copperplate warm white. Edition of 12.



Bursting Like All Dead Things

Scanned, handwritten poems along with typed and edited versions on facing pages. Bursting Like All Dead Things explores how the passage of time and repeated iterations allows thoughts to break down and evolve like dead plant matter or the bodies of small mammals. 

The sections are bookended with original and found collage images.

Skull Rock

Wood block print on fabric. Image size 7”x9” with a minimum 1” border. Inspired by real events that took place during a visit to Joshua Tree National Park. Printed on quilting weight cotton with traces of natural indigo dye. The indigo in each print varies slightly. Printed with Gamblin textile ink. Non-toxic and fully machine washable. The Lake Called God

A zine about a song about a shipwreck. Released on the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in/on Lake Superior, The Lake Called God remixes and recontextualizes the lyrics of Gordon Lightfoot’s famous ballad, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Combining collage, erasures of Lightfoot’s lyrics, and calligraphy, the book represents a search for new meaning amid the wreckage of the twentieth century. 32-page black and white zine, 8.12 x 5.5 inches. Collage illustrations by Anna Wagner, writing and calligraphy by Sloane Cutflower Allen.





Dog Book

Reproductions of 48 original dog artworks by Anna Wagner, risograph printed by Anna Tararova/Empress Editions. Dog Book charts Anna’s journey as she fostered and raised dozens of dogs, and was forever changed in the process. Artworks include drawings, prints and sculpture and were inspired by interactions with dogs of all kinds, both real and mythical.
