The Lake Called God
By Sloane Cutflower Allen and Anna Wagner

A zine about a song about a shipwreck. Released on the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in/on Lake Superior, The Lake Called God remixes and recontextualizes the lyrics of Gordon Lightfoot’s famous ballad, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Combining collage, erasures of Lightfoot’s lyrics, and calligraphy, the book represents a search for new meaning amid the wreckage of the twentieth century. 32-page black and white zine, 8.12 x 5.5 inches. Collage illustrations by Anna Wagner, writing and calligraphy by Sloane Cutflower Allen.
