unendurable

[issue one coming soon!]

About

And you sat, Sisyphus, on your rock: The bright lyre of Orpheus was enough to make even Sisyphus pause in his eternal task

Unendurable is a space for writing that contextualizes your eternal, ironic punishment, and maybe even attempts to wring some dignity out of it. We’re looking for poetry and short-form prose that struggles against the oppressions and degradations of Hell (a crumbling empire).

Submission Guidelines

Send a maximum of 5 pages total of poetry or 3 pages of prose. Include your submission in the body of the email or as an attached .docx, shared google doc or .pdf.

There is no fee to submit, and at this time we do not have the funding to pay writers (though we would love for this to one day become a paying journal!).

We maintain rolling submissions and an ongoing reading period. In an effort to prioritize quality over quantity, we publish on an irregular basis (but we strive for at least quarterly).

Send all submissions or questions to unendurablejournal@gmail.com
